Roofing in Gap
The eastern edge of our regular territory, and a part of the county with its own weather.

Gap sits on the Route 30 corridor at the eastern side of Lancaster County, on higher ground than most of the towns we work in.
We handle asphalt roofing, vinyl siding and aluminum gutters, and storm damage inspections after wind events.
Elevation and exposure
Gap is named for the gap it sits in, and elevation changes what a roof deals with. Higher, more exposed ground means stronger sustained wind and more freeze-thaw cycling than the lower parts of the county see.
Freeze-thaw is the one people underestimate. Water that gets into a small gap, freezes, expands and thaws again will open that gap a little further every cycle. A minor flashing defect in October is a leak by March.
It is also a reason to take ice and water protection at the eaves seriously on a replacement rather than treating it as an upsell.
Wind damage
Lancaster County is a wind market rather than a hail market. Verified events in the county are consistently wind and tree-fall. If a storm has come through Gap, the damage worth finding is lifted shingles and displaced flashing, not dents.
